Yanmin received his BS from Shandong Normal University, and in 2008 he started at Nankai University for his graduate studies. He joined the group of Prof. Guangxin Liang, where his research focused on total synthesis of bioactive alkaloids and terpenoids. He completed the total syntheses of pyrrole-imidazole alkaloid (+)-agelastatins A and B, the sesquiterpene longifolene, the strychnos alkaloid (+)-minfiensine, and the [6-6-5] tricyclic core skeleton of daphniyunnine C. In 2014, he joined Pharmaron Beijing, Co. Ltd. as researcher in process chemistry. His hobbies include basketball, football, badminton, cooking.
