In the past month or so, we have celebrated the birthdays of both of our talented rotating students (Neha and Megan, although Megan doesn’t know it yet…) as well as our very tired PI. We definitely enjoy any excuse to have champagne/sweets in the middle of a work day…
Qi has completed an elegant synthesis of group A streptogramin antibiotics (on gram scale)! We had to teach him how to pop champagne when we submittted. Now he’ll be a veteran when we have the acceptance party.
Find his paper over at the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
Congratulations to Diondra, who won an award at the Annual Biomedical Conference for Minority Students for her poster about her work in the Seiple Lab!
Welcome Beatrice and Kaitlyn, rotating graduate students from the CCB program! Beatrice comes from Bryn Mawr College, and Kaitlyn hails from UNC. They are working on some challenging antibiotic candidates during their rotations. We are very excited to have them in the Seiple Group!
Welcome Diondra Dilworth to the Seiple Group! Diondra hails from Harvard, and she will be doing a research internship in our group over the summer.
Lunch, coffee, and inventory organization. Thanks Charly for leading the charge to organize all of our chemicals!
Arthur Alexander Tran has joined the Seiple Group! It’s his second time doing research on the UCSF campus. Let’s see if he can make a dent in childhood leukemia.
